The Everett Philharmonic Orchestra is auditioning for two seats in the viola section. Applicants must be available for at least 80% of scheduled services during the 2026/27 season. Auditions will be conducted behind a screen to ensure anonymity. Candidates offered the position must provide proof of authorization to work in the United States no later than September 1, 2026. Repertoire: (please use the editions indicated)

  1. One page of a solo work of your choice (performed without accompaniment)
  2. Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 4 “Italian," Movement IV. Saltarello, mm. 196-215 (via IMSLP)
  3. Brahms: Symphony No. 2, Movement I, mm. 82-105 (Breitkopf & Härtel edition via IMSLP)
  4. Sight-reading

Pay: $55 per service. Approximately 18 services are scheduled during the 2026/27 season. Neither travel nor housing reimbursements are available.


Service dates:

  1. October 11, 2026 - 2:30 PM call / 3:00 PM concert
  2. November 29, 2026 - 2:30 PM call / 3:00 PM concert
  3. February 21, 2027 - 2:30 PM call / 3:00 PM concert
  4. May 16, 2027 - 2:30 PM call / 3:00 PM concert

Rehearsal dates are currently being finalized. Musicians should expect Wednesday and Thursday evening rehearsals during the two weeks preceding each concert. Rehearsals are held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Everett. Concerts are at the Everett Civic Auditorium.
